With funding from the National Science Foundation CAREER and National Science Foundation Ethical and Responsible Research Awards, Melissa Graboyes, Associate Professor of History and Center for Global Health undertakes research with community partners in East Africa.
With funding from the National Science Foundation Division of Behavioral and Cognitive Science, Lesley Jo Weaver, Associate Professor of Global Health and Center for Global Health, aims to develop a holistic understanding of the factors that drive variation in health among people living with housing insecurity in the United States.
With funding from a Department of Education Title VI grant, the Center for Applied Second Language Studies (CASLS) houses one of sixteen National Foreign Language Resource Centers that work to increase the nation’s capacity for language education. CASLS resources incorporate best practices in pedagogy, the latest in second language acquisition research, and technology that’s actually usable in the classroom.
University of Oregon Psychology Professors Dare Baldwin and Jeffery Measelle, are part of a long-term project to study how thiamine (vitamin B1) supplementation and fortification can reduce beriberi in children.
