Executive Committee
The Executive Committee consists of 8 members from diverse geographical regions and academic disciplines. Committee members serve for three-year, staggered terms. Responsibilities include the following:
- Provide advice and strategic guidance to the leadership of the APRU-SCL program.
- Contribute to societal impact by connecting APRU-SCL faculty with practitioners in the field of urban and landscape sustainability.
- Champion both new and existing programs (conferences, working groups, webinars, mini-certificates).
- Attend all annual conferences.
- Invite new members to participate in APRU-SCL programs.

Steering Committee
The Steering Committee consists of 20-24 faculty members, each member being a representative from an APRU member university.
The term length for a Steering Committee member varies. When one individual university representative term is over, leaves, or decides to step down, they are asked to nominate a replacement from their institution to maintain institutional connection. Responsibilities include the following:
- Follow the mission of the APRU-SCL and guide its vision.
- Serve as an advocate for APRU-SCL by participating in the annual conference, a working group, collaborative research, student experiential learning, and supporting translation of research for societal impact through associative events and partnerships.
- Serve for at least two-years on the Steering Committee, represented by APRU member universities from around the Pacific Rim.
- Provide leadership, discuss the progress and implementation of the APRU-SCL Research Collaborations, Student Experiential Opportunities, and Societal Impact and to discuss concerns and obstacles as they arise.
- Bring forward ideas and plans concerns for enhancing and growing the network of the APRU-SCL.
- Attend the APRU-SCL Conference at least every other year.
- Participate in APRU-SCL meetings and events including the All Leadership Meetings, Steering Committee Meetings, and Working Group meetings.
- Identify prospecting funding opportunities to create and impact of the Hub and its activities.
- Actively participate in communications (email, online meetings, in person meeting, etc.) to ensure decisions on governance, funding and strategy are taken collectively and acted upon.
- Steering Committee members who are unable to participate (attend online meetings, attend annual conference, participate in a working group, engage in email discussion) will be asked to recommit to participation or to step down and nominate a colleague to represent their university.
