Hadil Abuhmaid is a double Duck! She earned her doctorate in communication and media studies from the School of Journalism and Communication, and her Master's of Arts in Nonprofit Management from the University of Oregon. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in journalism and political science from Bir-Zeit University in Palestine, where she lived before moving to Eugene a decade ago.
Prior to joining the world of academia, Hadil held various roles in public relations, communication, project management, and nonprofit management. She is the co-founder of Filmlab: Palestine, a nonprofit company based in Ramallah, Palestine, that aims to develop the cinema industry in Palestine. Hadil joined the Global Studies Institute team in August 2024 as a global engagement program coordinator. Through this position, she will be able to combine her professional and academic backgrounds to foster global connections and collaborative opportunities between local faculty members and international scholars.
