Emma joined the Global Studies Institute in 2025. Throughout their career in the nonprofit sector, Emma has written and developed grant proposals, planned large and small-scale events, and enjoyed developing collaborative partnerships across industries and philanthropic networks.
Emma's academic background is in Music and Religious Studies at Macalester College, and she holds a Master's in Music from the University of Oregon. Emma maintains an active musical career as a classical soprano and regularly performs with professional ensembles across the Pacific Northwest. Their body of work includes academic and work experiences in Mexico, Cambodia, and Italy, as well as language study, which undergirds their interest in supporting global research and innovation.
